How we can help

Training Opportunities available from ALVO and it's Partners

Voluntary agencies are continually looking for new ways to solve problems and provide services in the most responsive way. ALVO is a focal point for local and national organisations who mean to provide new initiatives - we can provide bespoke training and development services to assist. ALVO is also ideally placed to offer experience, knowledge, advice, and practical support on all aspects of setting up a new group, developing an existing group, or meeting a new need.

Joining forces: ALVO provides regular forums for people and organisations to get together about issues of common interest and concern. This allows common approaches to be developed. improves understanding of current issues, and helps ensure voluntary groups can work together with other local organisations.

A Voice of Experience: ALVO helps voluntary groups to make approaches to decision-makers and statutory bodies, and sometimes takes a lead in making such representations. ALVO can act as a channel through which groups can make their views known, look after their interests and press for change. ALVO with other agencies can also help government and other bodies to be more effective by developing ways for local views to be included in policies and decision-making.

Local and Health Authorities are increasingly discovering the value of ALVO and others as a means of developing ways of talking to voluntary groups and users of health and welfare services.

Businesses and charitable trusts often use organisations such as ALVO to help find out what a community needs.
